Beyond the Place of Laughter and Tears in the Land of Devotion Book

Spiritual Writings of David Spero
$15.00

Beyond the Place of Laughter and Tears in the Land of Devotion is a compilation of David's poetry, essays, aphorisms and discourses. It is also a confession of his ecstatic spiritual realization and a potent vehicle of his living transmission.

In the Introduction to David's book, the Reverend Thomas Ahlburn writes: ". . . I think David's views are as brilliantly insightful as any that one is likely to encounter among living spiritual writers, including those of Ram Dass, Andrew Harvey, Ken Wilber, Bernadette Roberts, and the great spiritual genius Adi Da Samraj."

David's book will be sent to you in sincere appreciation for your donation in support of his teaching.

Quotes

  • The Supreme Union is the complete realization that meditation is devotion. Then all spiritual practices drop off like dried leaves from a tree.

As this condition continues to unfold itself within the body-mind, I’ve found that one often has to deal with an intensifying resistance from mind. Mind does not like this condition because mind is not included within its boundaries. It is constantly telling me, “What? This is the condition you chased after for 64 years? This? But there’s nothing to it!” And mind is quite right. When I was... Read More

I had a powerful Kundalini experience with last night's webcast. But the funny thing was, after the webcast, everything that David _said_ about what was proper for this path was in exact contradiction to what I knew personally and what he has said at other times. And at other times, he will contradict himself in the next sentence. E.g: "you should be feeling something subtle" ... then a student... Read More

Tonight, during David's Internet Meditation, a viewer asked David to describe the core of his teaching. To me, the question was so broad and massive that I really wasn't sure how David was going to answer. How does one sum up an entire teaching? My mind flickered w/ possible answers. "The core of my teaching is that realization is a gift," David said. Wow. My heart connected instantly.... Read More

I am Divinely Distracted by a great Vision. I am completely blown away by "who" "David" Is, and I don't mean this in any sort of Neo-Vedantic sense, either. David literally is the Transmission of Awakened Consciousness. This Shakti Transmission reveals all-pervasive potent Consciousness as utterly animating the body/mind in the most extreme impersonal sense, simultaneously igniting pure Bliss-... Read More

Yesterday, I experienced quite a blissful transference of Consciousness from David during his Awakening Intensive...even though I live in Hollywood and the intensive was in San Francisco. I have noticed this phenomenon many times before where I would find myself suddenly elevated in a state of bliss ... like being naturally high ... and then realizing that David was conducting a program at that... This entry accounts for my experiences with David on July 7, 2010. I had tuned into another of David's free weekly online satsang offerings on Wednesday evening, and once again enjoyed an incredibly blissful, spontaneous meditation full of Light and Freedom. No matter how active my mind may be at the commencement of these online gatherings, by the conclusion of the internet programs I invariably... Read More

Last night was a whopper of a satsang. David began the evening by laying out the non-dual nature of reality in Advaitic terms. He used a beautiful metaphor, likening the mind to a small plot of land enclosed by a fence. When one (seemingly individuated consciousness) approaches the fence and looks to see what is beyond it, one can see the vastness of Being itself, spreading in all directions.... Read More

Earlier this year I felt directed to David's teachings, and I've been regularly attending his webcasts and receiving his darshan. This is helping me to integrate the 'me' as consciousness with the 'me' who goes to work and lives a mundane everyday life. Lately it's becoming quite effortless to remain in Consciousness, and those old feelings of disappointment at 'falling out of Consciousness' are... Read More

Few seekers appreciate the importance of the conceptual equipment one brings to bear on the Spiritual Process. An army which tries to beat the enemy with only slingshots and longbows has sealed its fate before even stepping on to the battlefield. So it is with the Spiritual Process. Without the proper conceptual equipment none of the many issues which torment the modern day seeker can even be... Read More

I listened to David on Saturday and it just made easy sense, like talkng to a friend over coffee. I was reading the Tao te Ching last week and it was like reading the newspaper- simple, absolutely clear and evident. Mystery- a feature of Everyday life. My Wife greeted me with joy when I returned from the Intensive- happy that I went, happy that I returned, grateful that I am happy and changing... Read More
